Sütlaç is the Turkish form of Rice pudding, often baked in the oven as individual servings.
Milk is boiled with rice, sugar, and vanilla, to create a thick soupy material which is put into bowls and baked until brown on top. It is then set aside to cool and served chilled as a dessert.
This sweet rice pudding is virtually unchanged for many centuries, and continues to be a favorite of the Turkish sweet treats.
In Sirkeci, you can find a nice Sütlaç at Kasap Osman, Red River Pub, or Bolulu Hasan Usta
