CAFE MESE: And A Messy Shirt

manti at cafe mese

The newest addition to the diverse culinary choices of Sirkeci, Istanbul, Cafe Mese is an elegantly designed and sparkling fresh little restaurant and coffee shop situated conveniently on the tram line between Sirkeci and Gülhane stations.

The menu is more extensive than you would expect with salads, pastas, main courses, nice looking deserts. The crunchy fish salad looked and tasted delicious with sesame encrusted fillet of sea bass on a bed of salad greens. (pictured on the right)

The manti, often called Turkish ravioli, has meat inside little pockets of dough and is served with a garlic yogurt sauce. (pictured above)

The best dish being produced in this cafe though, is the fettuccine Alfredo. Served with chicken and mushrooms on fettuccine pasta with creamy Alfredo sauce (which i promptly spilled onto my shirt) and Parmasean cheese.

I also enjoyed the mocha latte and the service was original and very aesthetically pleasing

  • Don’t Miss: Fettucini Alfredo
  • Best Perk: location and service
  • Average Price: 5tl for drinks, 10tl for food
