Sac Tava is tradionally a wedding dish, served to the groom and groomsmen the night before the wedding ceremony. All men would share the pan of food in a symbolic gesture of family unity. Today, the pan is much smaller for a single serving, and is generally brought to your table in a restaurant with a candle underneath making the food sizzle. Ingredients can be beef, lamb, or chicken, with vegetables and a brown sauce. Usually the sac tava comes with lavaş bread which are thin tortilla like wraps.
Sac Tava , meaning convex pan, is a Turkish take on sizzling fajitas, with the hot pan brought to your table for you to server yourself.
